lifornia Instruments (CI) offer a wide range of high quality AC
sources ranging from 250VA to 270kVA of output power. Many units also offer a DC output at 2/3rds of
the rated AC power. Most CI units are provided with a Graphical
User Interface (GUI) that allow advanced programming and control
features to be driven from your PC. CI sources are used in a multitude
of applications including military test, aerospace test (military
and commercial), IEC testing, general equipment testing and signal
conditioning. Aerospace testing forms the core of their offering
with many units in the range offer specialist test features for
this industry. This includes test sequences aimed at the
special testing standards set by Airbus and Boeing, as well as various
Military specifications.
CI sources offer a wide range of outputs voltages, currents and frequency capabilities. Single and/or three phase outputs are available as required.

Products that operate from any standard AC power (utility or avionics) in today's environment, are likely to encounter variations and disturbances that can play havoc with microprocessor based control systems.
For reasons of safety, or sheer inconvenience, users are no longer tolerant of unpredictable operation of their equipment. It has therefore become essential to thoroughly test new designs, and sometimes every product manufactured, with simulated non-standard power.
Another significant application is the need to operate equipment from an AC power standard not available at the location of the equipment. This can be 400Hz in a hanger, 60Hz in the USA, 50Hz in the UK etc.
